Knocking off the Rust

Tonight I shot my first football action of 2016. I had an ok night and managed to snag a few nice images. The above image of PA receiver Trajen Johnson was shot on my D7100. I love shooting players running through pockets of light. I wanted to paint him with that light so that he would pop out of the background. I really like these kinds of shots and knew that I could take advantage of this wonderful light due to the time of day and location of PA's stadium.

This shot had potential to be really great. But, I was not in the best position and it was a hair out of focus. The ref managed to find his way in the photo as well. The first of many this season!

PA running back Jaren Watkins is one of the smallest guys on the Bruin's roster but he is cat quick and tough as a board. He took some bone-jarring shots from the Bryant defense!
