Not Sure What I did...But It Worked.

Just a quick Sunday afternoon thought...

I was surfing around the web last night and I came across a few of my older photos from back in 2010. One of the photos that caught my eye was this one:

This was a preseason scrimmage game between Rison and Strong. When I look at it now, it's amazing, because I honestly was still trying to figure out how to shoot sports. The first thing that catches my eye in this photo is the background. It's busy for one, but that is hard to avoid. Looks like I did shoot this at 2.8 but what sticks out to me is one of my big pet peeves: lines that aren't straight. I've learned to get this right the majority of the time in camera or post. Some people don't notice it, but it sticks out like a sore thumb to me. I'm not sure what I was shooting in the camera but based on the blur of the feet, it looks like I was shooting a much slower shutter speed than I would these days. I don't remember doing this intentionally, trying to be artsy, but sometimes when you don't necessarily know exactly what you are doing, you make a picture that just works.

Jimmy shoots exclusively Nikon bodies and is a strong supporter of the brand. He currently owns the D4, D3s, D7100, D300s and the D60 along with a wide-variety of Nikon lenses and accessories.
